Firstly, we would like to thank you and your son/daughter for your patience and understanding during these unprecedented times.
You may have received communication last week offering an invitation to attend school during its closure. Since the message was sent, government guidance has changed and priority must be given to children who are ‘most vulnerable’ and/or have key worker parents who cannot care for their child at home. The school is working hard to accommodate as many students as possible but due to limited capacity these places must be given to students in Key Stage 3 and 4. Therefore, we ask that students in the Sixth Form do not come into school and instead remain at home.
We welcomed each year group to an information assembly towards the end of last week to provide reassurance.
I have reiterated that the school remains a source of information, guidance and support at any time. We have emphasised the need for routine and an orderly work plan. We have also highlighted the opportunity to spend time doing hobbies, exercise and enjoying interesting pursuits (that do not involve social media or Xbox’s!)
Please click here for some information for parents and students to support home working. Students are able to email their teachers from their school email account if they have queries about their work or resources. Parents may email pastoral staff, teachers, Heads of Department and Heads of Faculty in the usual way; please do bear in mind, absence levels will inevitably impact on response times.
We have also now received information from the Department of Education on their plans for exams and grades for Year 11 and Year 13 students. Please see the following link: https://www.gov.uk/government/news/further-details-on-exams-and-grades-announced?utm_source=96f31727-1fb9-408b-a7fa-d91d4ceaeb6b&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=govuk-notifications&utm_content=immediate
For those students attending school next week, a reminder that they should wear their school uniform, bring a water bottle, pencil case and their PE kit EVERYDAY.
I will keep in touch with further updates as I have them, until then, stay well and remember we are here for every family should you need us for support or guidance; do email me directly should you need our particular urgent assistance.
