Welcome to GA6! Thank you for considering us for your Post-16 study.

Formal transition meetings will be completed by Wednesday 13 March. Conditional offers will then follow to ALL applicants by Friday 22 March.

GA6 is a welcoming, inclusive, supportive and inspiring school based sixth form. We aspire for all students to ‘be more’. To be more inspired, more encouraged, more supported and more successful in their last two years of school education.

We are focused on offering a broad and inclusive curriculum that has subject choices for all interests and ability levels. We are always looking at new courses and providing new opportunities for students to experience the widest range of subjects possible. This includes traditional subjects such as A-level Maths, History, Economics and English and also more vocational courses such as Media, BTEC Sport, Food and Nutrition and Product Design. We are also investing in offering Criminology and BTEC Forensic Science in the very near future.

We are committed to outstanding academic outcomes for our students alongside to creating a community and a culture where students thrive personally and socially. All students at GA6 take on a leadership role, from academic tutors to reading buddies and peer mentors, they all give back to the community in some way. The range of extra-curricular options also varies widely from Sustainability Club to Duke of Edinburgh and the George Abbot Performing Arts Leaders. The two years at GA6 is a chance to try new things, meet new people and gain new skills.

Our next steps support is incredibly well resourced with a very experienced careers team and Higher Education advice and guidance available at all times and through bespoke events. Students are guided to make choices for their future that are right for them and help them to achieve their future goals.

GA6 is open to current George Abbot students and those studying elsewhere. We are a school based Sixth Form that embraces all students who are committed to ‘be more’. The pastoral care, teacher expertise, facilities and enrichment opportunities that we offer, lead to children leaving compulsory education to take on the world as confident, mature and well qualified young adults.

I look forward to meeting you at our upcoming open evening on Tuesday 31 October when you can meet our students and staff and find out more about the process of joining GA6.
