Work experience week is a very important, enriching part of your Year 12 experience. Not only does it support your UCAS/apprenticeship/job application, but it is also a valuable opportunity to gain employability skills.
Here at George Abbot School, the feedback we get from both students and employers after the placements is extremely positive – it truly is a rewarding experience, not to mention a great opportunity to network and make contacts for your future.

There are many exciting opportunities in various industries including:
Fashion and Marketing, Politics, Rail Services, Infrastructure, Publishing, Environment, Construction, Business and Insurance, the Army, Social Enterprise, Tourism, Property Services, Management Consultants.
Any additional work experience/insight days you participate in are a fantastic way for you to enrich your studies, add to your CV and personal statement and gain some important knowledge, facts and information about how companies and industry work.

University of the Creative Arts, Farnham
We are currently recruiting for our online Bronze Arts Award courses, which are for Yr 9 to 11s. Delivered across 6-consecutive Sundays, starting Sunday 27th October, delivered between 10am to 4pm (each course delivers differently within this time frame). 5 different disciplines to choose from to:

Have you ever wondered what working for the NHS is really like? It’s a universal healthcare system that is crucial for treating patients and saving lives on a daily basis, but we often don’t fully understand what it’s like! This module will help with that – from introducing you to how the NHS is structured to introducing the core values and beliefs of the NHS, you’ll gain an insight into what it’s like to work in healthcare settings, and how it feels to truly make a difference
Springpod have teamed up with the Health Education England to bring you some fascinating work related virtual modules. These free online work experiences are spread over 10 hours which you can do at your own pace.

Surrey County Council Virtual Work Experience
We’re pleased to let schools know that in partnership with Youth Employment UK we have developed a virtual work experience module to offer students the opportunity to find out more about working for Surrey County Council and the careers on offer. There are both KS3 and KS4 supporting workbooks for students and teaching guides for teachers, though the module can be accessed by anyone at any age.

Coca-Cola
Coca-Cola Europacific Partners has launched their new on-demand virtual work experience programme.
Features:
- The work experience programme designed for young people aged 14-18 and is free
- The duration is 2 hours and students can work through at their own pace
- Students will gain important skills for their CV, future applications and interviews
- There is the opportunity to have a go at a real industry challenge and create a social media campaign
- CCEP has worked with Whizz-Kidz to ensure young people with mobility issues and disabilities have the opportunity to participate in these on-demand opportunities.
